MARCH new ARTWORK and UPDATES
My new, fresh, stylin' webcomic has been live for a month now and we're up to page 6! Please go check it out at cocottecomic.com. It's Free! It's wrtten by Kat Vapid with art by me. We update every Monday with a new page and someday we hope to find a publisher or get a published book from Kickstarter or win a stationwagon full of awards. I'm really proud of the comic. We'll talk more about it on the site. Do you like?:
Just finished the cover for FUNRAMA #2, the comic that nobody reads and nobody cares about! This is exciting! I pray that this comic will be ready for the C2E2 convention and online purchase on this blog but I'm still lettering it and putting the book together. It takes forever and a day. It was wearing me down and I was starting to lose all the sense of fun in this book so I wanted to do a really classic, comicbooky cover, kind-of inspired by Jack Kirby or something:
Here's a Godzilla variant cover art I did for a new series by IDW with art by Simon Gane. The colors are by Rico Renzy. Rico came in on a really short notice and did a bang-up job on the colors! It's exactly how I imagined in my mind:
Here's a cover I did for a small press anthology called BANDTHOLOGY. I did this only because I had a good idea for an illustration. Comics about music seem to focus a lot on heroic tales of rockstardom so I wanted to do a cover about what it's really like to be in a band: playing in front of 4 people in a reverted bowling alley and no one cares about your band. I wanted it to resemble the Fireside bowl in Chicago. I sent out a cold call for help with colors and Mary Cagle offered. Her work looked good so I hired her to color the image. It was a 100% perfect job! See...
SAUCER COUNTRY #1 comes out next week , March 14. What can I say? I'm very excited about it and nervous as well. I hope you buy it! This is what it looks like:
And here's my cover for the third issue:
How are you? Me? I'm okay I guess. If you can quantify being in intense constant pain as okay. I've now seen - like - 15 doctors, dentists, oral surgeons, endodontists, chiropractors and acupuncturists. Nonstop fun. It looks like I have two diagnosis: Trigeminal Neuralgia and another Oral Maxil-facial thing making it worse. Anti-seizure meds aren't working so I'm on a course now for brain surgery unless things start to shape up. I'm seeing a chiropractor now though and I hope that does something. If you can help me by buying Funrama #2 and some sketches from me at C2E2, that would be great.
