Lots Of Comic Books Out Right Now

THREE
Three is such a huge achievement for me. The book just came out and I'm hoping to get more readers on this thing. I feel like, for a book this good, it passed under people's radar. I love this book. Local is obviously the most "important" book I've done; Saucer Country had the most creative potential; NY5 was probably my peak, art-wise; Cocotte and Funrama are my most personal work; But THREE is the coolest project I've been a part of, for sure.

Buy Three here, from Image Comics.

Star Wars Vol.2

It was so great to be a part of Star Wars. Definitely a career highlight for me.  I don't remember drawing a dang thing though. I was half-asleep during this time. Volume 2, with my Pencils, just came out this month.

Buy Star Wars Volume 2 from Darkhorse Comics.

LUCIFER Book 3

Lucifer Book 4

Lucifer Book 3 just came out and Lucifer Book 4 will be out in August and that will wrap up the entire 75-issue run. Lucifer was where I developed my skills and I am so pleased to be an artist on a book that is so well loved and admired after all these years.

UnWritten Apocalypse #3

UnWritten Apocalypse #4

With The Unwritten, I'm always coming in, doing some stuff, and popping out when I get busy. What a great series this is. So many fun things to draw in Mike and Peter's book. I did Finishes on Issue #3 and #4   I might be doing something special for the UnWritten in the future.

The Dead Boy Detectives

I'll be working with Mark Buckingham as a Finisher on The Dead Boy Detectives starting with #7. I hope I do a good job. Bucky's work on Fables is amazing obviously, and his work with Chris Bachalo in the 90's is still my favorite art in mainstream comics of all time.

DEAD BOY DETECTIVES #7
Written by TOBY LITT
Art by MARK BUCKINGHAM and RYAN KELLY
Cover by MARK BUCKINGHAM
On sale JULY 23 • 32 pg, FC, $2.99 US • RATED T

The ashes of St. Hilarion’s have barely settled before the tabloids start a witch hunt against “pyrobrainiac” Crystal Palace in the first chapter of the new story, “Ghost Snow.” Charles Rowland and Edwin Paine spirit their new friend away from London and accept the invitation from Charles’s long-lost sister Clementine to visit her and her science-boffin daughter, Miranda, deep in weird and wild East Anglia.

Secret Avengers Original Sin #1
I'm drawing an Original Sin tie-in for Secret Avengers with Ales Kot. One of those Marvel Infinite thinga-majoggers. It will be free with a purchase of Original Sin #2 and #3 by redeeming a code. It's nice to work with Ales. He's a cool dude and we almost did an indy book together a hundred years ago but life got in the way.

Read an interview about it at Newsarama

Funrama #3

Most important of all, I just released #3 of my my epic comic opus, FUNRAMA. Funrama is what you would get if I was given free-reign to make the comic I want. Although, often,  have to work on it "on the side" and I just have to manage some how. This is my book. It's all me. you can't get more Ryan Kelly than this.

Funrama #3; Cactus Man is available as a $2 pdf download or $4 plus shipping for a print copy at www.funramacomic.com I hope you buy it, I know you will like it!

I have some other things "in the works", and something not announced yet, so we'll have to wait and see.

Also, Cocotte, my webcomic with Kat Vapid is cooking along . New post going up today too!

And as always, Thanks for your support!

Lucifer Art Gallery

I found some more Lucifer art and I uploaded them all in a new Lucifer art gallery which is more pleasing to the eye but hard to navigate for the lack of photo titles. It's taking me a long time to compile, scan and price them. Here's the old post about purchasing art. Most are for sale but I'm preserving a good portion as "Not For Sale" so I can control the remaining art I have left.
Where did it all go?!
Here are some of the finer moments:

The Lucifer Art Collection

Lucifer 75, originally uploaded by funrama.

This was a long time coming but I posted all of my Lucifer original art pages online. I probably worked on 1200 pages from this celebrated Vertigo series. I believe I have already sold 2/3rds of my Lucifer pages so I hold on to these more dearly. You can also view more Lucifer art at petergrossart.com. I'm still scanning, so there may be a few more pages to come.

Notes:
Many of my pages are for sale. If there is an original art page you'd like to purchase, email me, and I'll qoute you a price with shipping cost. I can take Paypal and I'll ship the art to you USPS Priority.

I am no longer offering bulk prices for my Lucifer art.

A few of the pages I posted are not for sale, and I'll try to mark those as NFS. There are about 200 pages in the gallery at moment, I intend to make about 50 pages Not For Sale. I'm giving those to my children!

The art is scanned as grayscale so you can see what the original actually looks like. Some pages are missing panel borders and I routinely draw in any needed borders for any work that is sold.

The Lucifer Trade Collection

I REALLY have to stop reading the comments on Newsarama. Many are really flippant. Here, I can do it too.................

I read comics, And I post on comic blogs all day, And I buy your comic, so you better please me with your comic, or I'll totally knee-drop your comic, and I hope this comic fails, because I like to see comics fail because it'll be good for the comic industry if your comic fails, where I buy my comics from, and I hope all comics fail except for the comics by the only 5 creators that I like and so on and so on.

OK, a bad speller posted this on Mike Carey's Crossing Midnight Interview:

"of all the vertigo sereis this has the most chance of being seen at a libraries so the trade will defently help this series survive let's not forget that Lusifer had lowest sales of any vertigo title of its day but still saw a satisfactory conclution ."

From what I remember that was not true. To the end, the monthly Lucifer sold better than Swamp Thing, Losers, Exterminators and some others. But who cares, I don't understand the Vertigo death-watch by people with negative attitudes. There's plenty of superhero books out there to pacify people who don't care for super natural horror or thought-provoking, intelligent drama or attempts to do something new and progressive. I can cede that Lucifer may be more satisfying in large paperback chunks rather than monthly pieces, but the trades have been very successful and the singles allowed the series to live a full, complete life.

The point is, here are all the Trade paperbacks collecting the entire Lucifer series. This is what they look like. This is all of them in order from Book 1 to Book 11: Evensong. You can go to your comic shop or Amazon
and purchase this amazing fantasy epic for about $100.00. What a great present for the one you love.
